Hello all,
I am looking for some feedback on Pratt Institute to obtain a MUP. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge when it comes to the school?
Anything will help:

I applied their last year and went for a visit back in March. Its a fairly activist program with more of a focus on studio's and practice than theory. A lot of their faculty are adjuncts, who are practicing planners during the day. Prof. Shapiro is really great and really knowledgeable. They seem to have a really good reputation in the city, but I'm not too sure how far outside of NYC that reputation travels. Also, because you'll be working with practicing planners, I would think that there is at least a decent chance of landing a job post Pratt. The campus itself is great and in a cool, but fairly quiet part of Brooklyn, not too far from Williamsburg and Manhattan (via subway). One caveat with the program is that they expect you to take 2.5-3yrs to complete the program and all the classes are at night.
Overall, I thought it was a great program and the only real reason I chose to attend elsewhere was the cost, not only of the school (not a very strong Fin Aid package), but also to live in NYC.
I'd be interested to hear anything about Pratt as well. It definitely looks nice but my family and friends in NYC really didn't know much about it other than that it was in Brooklyn, haha.
Oh I haven't applied anywhere yet. Still have some time left in undergrad, which is good since I'm still trying to find my feet. I've mainly just been looking where I have family and friends, so SUNY Albany, Buffalo, Pratt, and Hunter CUNY. Also University of Hawaii is technically on the table but I'd rather be in New York
Have you thought about NYU? I was able to get a full fellowship from them + research work. I turned it down for Illinois, but it seemed like an interesting school.
