Resources to assist with funding large tree relocation

Anybody have experience finding grant resources to assist with relocation of a large heritage/specimen tree? We're building a new city hall, library & public safety building. We managed to avoid all of the great trees on the site except for one... a 53" diameter live oak. It is a beautiful tree, and I've been tasked with identifying funding resources that might assist in funding its relocation. Any thoughts?

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

When Jesus said "love your enemies", he probably didn't mean kill them.

Sounds like a good opportunity for a Save The Tree party with a beer garden and some BBQ.

We were able to get some help saving saguaros in Arizona, but the groups only worked with endangered cacti. Maybe one of the nurseries would be willing to take it and sell it for a little PR or something?
