Because Oscar-worthy "injury" performances in hockey provide no tangible benefit to game play, whereas in basketball they are sometimes rewarded by opportunities to score at the free throw line.

People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

This. And the fact that NBA refs are so much more willing to give fouls when one of the "star" players is even brushed up against makes the problem even worse. It's basically the same problem as big name starting pitchers in the MLB getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to called strikes and a generous strike zone.

I can't get away with presenter mode. the computer is behind me and I just click a mouse to advance slides.

I'm moving offices soon. I wonder if they'll let me spend what I want on new cube walls and new electrical and cable drops. Hell, I might even ask for a couch for my own break room.

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

The article didn't mention the man's name. I'm hoping for Mario or Luigi.

If they had only opened a store in SLO. That would have saved the company because of the massive amounts of merchandise they could have sold there. But nooooooooooo......

Terminator isn't around at present so looks like it's up to me to post this shoegazer video

Our mall is one of them. We now have three anchor stores (counting Macy's). We had four, but Liberty University owns the majority share of the mall, and they turned that space into their offices for their LU Online activities. They say there's already a tenant lined up for the Macy's space, but won't release any information. I hope it's an actual store and they're not taking over more of the mall. Not that our mall is anything to brag about, but it's going to be hard to find places to shop for certain items if it gets completely taken over by the school.

When your mall is home to odd things it's death for the mall. I'd like to say our's just never got started, but we have a gymnastics studio, half empty R/C plane store, half empty (or is it filled) arcade that no one uses, an indoor mini golf place, and much much more useless stuff that takes up more space than should be normally affordable in a mall. Also, our Sears is closing. I know it's no , but it's not like we're SLO.

It is nasty out today. People are confused. You would think we have never seen snow before.
