    Event center vs religous organization

    Does anyone have any experience working with an organization that claims to be both an Event Center and a Religious Organization? Looking for clarification on how other places may handle multiple use buildings where one of the uses is for religion...

    right or wrong I treat the use as what it is. A church is an assembly use to me, although my code has it specifically listed. If they want to do classrooms, then the zone must allow for classrooms. If they want to do religious based full contact golf, then the zoning needs to allow full contact golf. It's not about the religion, it's about the use associated with it. The other way to handle it would be a multi-use campus approach. I would do some kind of PUD zoning or a use permit to handle something like that.
    I don't pretend to understand Brannigan's Law. I merely enforce it.

    Neigher. Regulate them both as "Places of General Assembly" and maybe split it into 2 categories (major & minor) based on square footage.

    That way it will meet all RLUPA requirements.
    If you want different results in your life, you need to do different things than you have done in the past. Change is that simple.
