What food was served at the last picnic you attended?

sub sandwiches with potato chips and a two liter of Pepsi.
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

Rotisserie chicken and potato wedges with diet coke.

Though I first had to look up the definition of picnic, do some introspection about my life and the nearly six years I routinely dined al fresco, wrote multiple lengthy replies, redacted them repeatedly -- I had the time this morning to write a shorter letter it seems.

We grilled burgers and dogs. Had some beans and potato salad.
I don't pretend to understand Brannigan's Law. I merely enforce it.

I'm in the same boat on this one.

The last time I recall, is June 2006. My kids, who were 6 and 8 at the time, and I were canoeing on the Mississippi River near Prairie du Chien Wisconsin and we decided to stop at one of the several small islands for lunch, a "picnic of sorts". The island was probably about 10 acres and wooded. Later on we would name it "Picnic Island". .

As you can see from the pictures, we didn't have a picnic blanket nor a basket. Just a cooler and we just sat on the ground.

Both my kids are adults now. That day seems like more than 20 years ago..truly another dimension of time for me. .
