Thread: Planner Justification

    Planner Justification

Here at APM we want to make clear that the pretty little colored maps you use to manipulate the public do not fool us. Unfortunately, most Common Councils are so gullible they fall for your “rainbow manipulation” and approve ridiculous streetscape projects that serve no purpose and cost nothing but money. It is our belief that these projects are really used as feeble attempts to justify your jobs and do nothing for public welfare.

As we understand how the planners mind works…If we plant trees and place decorative benches in front of our properties businesses and customers will flock there like mice to peanut butter?

does that tie us to the "Rainbow Coalition"?

    APM Dues

    Yes, you can join APM.

For planners annual dues are based on your salary divided by your community’s (tax rate*1000). For people of the random public dues are $100 for a lifetime membership.

You can also become AIAP (American Institute of Anti-Planners) certified by filling out a registration form for $110.00. We will then determine if you are eligible for the exam. If eligible, the exam fee is $350. Study sessions are also available for $50.00. Although this is meant to intimidate you and give the exam a false mystique… have no worries. Almost everyone passes the exam as this is really a money making scam designed to enhance our lobbying position in Washington, DC.

The good news is that at the annual AMP Conference (this year held in Joliet, IL) we give all APM members nametags. Those members AIAP certified will have that text placed on their nametag. So, in essence, you will get to walk around the conference like you are so much cooler than the regular AMP members. If interested please go to the AMP website. We also have one division of APM dedicated to Gays and Lesbians.

Hopefully not. Sockpuppeting is NOT a good thing.

Besides, that rant is lame by property rights advocate standards. Now, this is a rant ...

    Is there an APM website??

Interesting question posed in your feeble attempt to be funny. Your confusion does not surprise me because after all you are a planner.

We at APM could think of a hundred different questions to confuse you in a public meeting and make you respond, "Uh, I'll have to check into that and report back". We keep a list of them and use them when needed. We call it “Verbal Warfare of the Village Idiot” or VWVI, commonly referred to as 5W6 in our arena based on the Roman numerals V and VI and the letter W. And even if you gave us a credible answer based on your education, experience, and appropriate standards we'd still question it and laugh with doubt. So you see young Tom R., as the great David Ruffin of the Temptations once sang, your life as a planner is mired in a "Ball of Confusion". And that's our goal at APM to 5W6’ya.

You posed the question identified in the quote above. Here is my response.

Are you a smart feller or a fart smeller? Get a clue. I learned the mechanics of reverse descriptive comedy in 2nd grade. Fat, dumb, beer guzzling, and watching Ohio State football games and wishing that you could be a Buckeye for just one day is no way to live your life little boy. I challenge you to come up with something more creative. Now go help that citizen waiting at your counter little Intern.

Absolutely not. With fabulous concepts like 5W6'ing, its a pleasure to be insulted by APM.

WOW! I haven't gotten a response like that since my divorce.
Anyway, I think Jimmy Ruffin had more talent and I'm a Penn State Pitt fan. So, there!
