Just back from a great trip from Alaska to Washington DC to visit family and take in some of the foundations of our system of government.
No matter how one feels about current events and those making policies right now, it is very inspiring to travel around and see structures like the Washington Monument leading to the Capitol, especially in total sunlight or at night.
One government staff official said daily he is inspired by the Magna Carta and the British contributions to our democracy. I was inspired by that and hope that view is prevalent in DC.
Chris and I also visiting Arlington Cemetery and paused for a good while at the Kennedy graves ---John's with his family and the eternal flame and Robert's, a simple cross and plaque on a bed of grass. I almost came to tears just standing there, thinking about what might have been.
Take care of yourselves
