    Curious?

I have to admit, if there was a personal for a cute girl on a page that I visited, I went ahead and clicked, just to see if she was as cool as she sounded on her introductory sound bite phrase. Didn't get very far, as I was directed to a generic page trying to get me to sign up for a personal. Too much trouble, and I never got much farther.

Okay Cyburbians, how many of you will admit to being a little curious of the cute faces that show up on your favorite web pages?!

I have clicked for curiosity... but then I don't think there is anything wrong with the looky no touchy concept.

Being married, I haven't been tempted, but I'm curious to see who has used the powers of hte internet to google an ex.

Plenty of times! I have googled exs that I miss (in a platonic way) and I wondered what was going on with them... and I've googled exs that scare the crap out of me to try to avoid their general location.

A couple of years ago, all off us in the office and "the office next door" signed up for a dating web site just for fun. I never got any contacts like the ladies did. I could have been because of this:

Searching for: Sex with no strings

I had a bet with my assistant, that I could write the personal and get no contact, I won.

She on the other hand, is dating some she met from that excursion into cyber dating

After becoming single again, I googled ex's and not only clicked on personals, I signed up. Its not a good concept for me though so I haven't utilitzed it.

Haven't googled any exes, but met my wife via match.com

I don't really think there are any exes I would care to google. On the other hand, I have also used Match.com. My luck there has been about the same as elsewhere - a few dates and a couple longer relationships - so I guess it isn't too bad.

They all seem excessively young, skinny and shallow in the little ads on the websites I frequent. I believe you should actually meet people the old-fashioned way; you raid and pillage their village and capture their women. I am married and darn it, Iím all caught up and committed to monogamy and all it entails. Not that doesnít mean I donít on rare occasion have ďlust in my heart.Ē Propers to Nobel Jimmy C.

I've googled a couple of people I used to be close to or had crushes on, more out of curiosity then anything.

As for internet dating, while it has been suggested to me by a few friends I've never tried it and doubt I will.

I put a personal on modernhumorist.com a couple of months ago and I finally got a reply... she was "full of life, postive, and looking forward to romantic walks under the stars."

    Sheesh! Get real!

Of course, I didn't reply. Not neccessary at this time.

well, James and I aren't married, and he'd never be my wife, so only mostly ditto. I think it works well in big cities, and you don't have to think "what the hell did that person look like? *roll over* $%*#&GAWDIWASDRUNK@$%&(*&@#!!"

When Jesus said "love your enemies", he probably didn't mean kill them.

Googled an ex - most definately! I've also googled myself to see what's out there and what someone would find if they looked me up. Surprisingly there was a lot out there, but it's all under my maiden name.

One day I sat around and looked at match.com and stuff to see if there was anyone I knew on there. There were actually three guys that I knew on there. One was my friends ex boyfriend so I sent her the ad as a joke saying maybe they could rekindle the romance

Those ads on Salon, The Onion, and so on are REAL. It's from a co-branded online personals site run by Spring Street Networks. The ads are a bit edgy, because SSN is trying to carve out a market niche as being a preferred online personals service for folk who see themselves as hip and urban.

As far as Googling ex-girlfriends goes ... yeah, I'll admit to doing it, and most have online presences in some form. One is an elected official, and you'll find lots of newspaper articles, listings on contact sheets, and so on; we're still very good friends. Another works in the performing arts, and she has a .mov of her talent promo tape online. (No, it's NOT pr0n.) We're not on speaking terms.

I believe the 0 vs the o is to indicate one is opening "wide." I could be mistaken.

On the contrary, she was a 21 year old "goth" waitress we met at a happy hour, and bumped into later in the evening at the Nomad World Pub
