    Planners Phishing For Music

I can't say enough about the band "Phish."
They are awesome, and were recently on Saturday Night
Live---the same night Al Gore was on, around the time
he announced he would not be a candidate for Pres.
    in 2004.
I hear Phish is going to play a live concert in New York City
    on New Years Eve.
If anyone on this list is from the Big Apple, or possibly planning to go, let us know.
And we'll want a full review after the concert.

Mike, tell me more about the live Phish NYE concert you saw.
Wish I could get to one.
I hear they are just super in person.
    Unplanned as it were.

I could not agree with you more. Phish is a great band. I have seen several dozen shows between 1995 and 1999 while I was in school.

Have you heard the new cut "Round Room" not bad.

Have you ever seen them live?

    Phish Live

No, haven't seen Phish live, but people who have tell me it is an experience they will remember all their lives.
One friend in Barrow said he saw them a while back live in Charleston SC. Awesome show.
And will have to check out cut Round Room.
So many songs I am learning to really groove and tap my feet and clap my hands to.
    Go PHISH!!!

Round Room is a good disc, for a studio cut.

I am sure up there in the far north country you don't get a lot of opportunities to see live music. There are a lot of great websites where you can download good live "Jam Band" music.

Your friend is right live Phish shows as unlike anything you can imagine unless of course you have seen the Dead. They are about as close as you can get in terms of experience.

round room sounds like a demo to me. But the songs sound really good live.

    Jam Bands

    Glad I saw this thread!

I was just listening to a very early "jam band" the German hippie "collective" Amon Duul II, and their 18-minute long "improvisation" "Yeti" Awesome-its held up well since 1970.

    Phishing for Music

Yes, message board members, I fully agree that long jams by groups like the Dead and Phish are a wonder to behold.
I'm going to try to get more in my inventory. Great for listening up here in the land of the midnight sun---24 hour daylight. Start typing out some planning ideas, crank up the music around 2 am. and sun still bright overhead!! Maybe then go into poetry!!
