You need either Real Player or Windoze (tm) Media 9 player to listen to this.

I heard this on NPR yesterday on my long commute home.

I think this ranks at the bottom of my "sustainable, added-value economic development" list. Down there with casinos and sports stadiums.

    By the way,

Why would it be so bad if a municipality defaluted and unincorporated/desolved?

This may become a big issue in the near future for our post-industrial economy.

I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

The ends can justify the means.

Pick me up on your way down there. I need to conduct some research myself.

I used to joke about this in an Illinois community where I once worked. The city had two "massage parlors," one labeled C_____ Health Spa and Modeling. It was all legitimate (wink, wink). Outside of town was a strip club. At the same time I was there, a neighboring town was trying to kick out an adult book store. I suggested that there was an opportunity to develop a market niche.
