    Create a Band 2

Okay, a previous post from giff57 led me to this - lets do something a little different; you have the power to create your own band to play your son's/cousins Bar Mitzva, divorce/wedding party, or because you passed the AICP exam. Who would be playing at your house?

    Drums - Neil Peart
    Guitar - Joe Satriani
    Bass - Dusty Hill
    Rhythm Guitar - James Hetfield
    Keyboards - Eddie Van Halen
    Vocals - Geoff Tate

    Bass - John Entwistle
    Lead Guitar - Frank Zappa
Rythm Guitar and Vocals - Lou Reed
    Drums - Animal

May I recommend Bruce Hornsby on keyboards?

That would free up Eddie V.H. for lead guitar, which he is much better at!
All these years the people said heís actiní like a kid.
He did not know he could not fly, so he did.

SGB, Eddie does play a mean guitar and Bruce is great on keyboards. I could not, however, replace Joe with Eddie. They would have to both play lead like by many of the southern bands...Skynyrd, Hatchett, .38, probably the Allmans as well.

    Vocals: M. Doughty (Soul Coughing)
    Guitar: Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)
Bass: Kim Deal (Pixies)... although I would have picked John Entwistle, but isn't he dead?
    Drums: Dave Grohl (various)
And just 'cause he's so freakin' cool: Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys)

    Let's see

Vocals: Simon Hesnes (ex-Borknagar) (or Michael Gira (Swans) if we are talking about a funeral performance )

Keyboards: Garm (A.K.A. Trickster G) (Ulver, Borknagar, Arcturus) or Renaud (keyboardist for Elend)

Guitars (Twin Attack, of course): Niklas Sundlin and Frederick Johansson (Dark Tranqulity)

    Drums: Hellhammer or Shaun Steels

    Bass: Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath)

(Sorry to be obscure, but these are my honest opinions)

    Guitar: Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)

    Guitar: Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins)

    Bass: Kim Gordan (Sonic Youth)

    Drums: Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters)

Backing Vocals: Tanya Donelly (Belly/The Breeders)

Vocals: Jeff Buckley is my first choice, but since he's dead and therefore unavailable, I will take over the role as lead singer because I am a freaking rock-star.

Iíll second that. His CD Hot House really showcases his talent. If you donít own it. Get it.

Having Busta Rhymes, Buddy Holly and Bubba sound like the start of a great band to me.
