No one has mentioned Double Bubble bubblegum.

It was around when my Dad was growing up, and it's still here today to aid in my son's future tooth decay.
All these years the people said he’s actin’ like a kid.
He did not know he could not fly, so he did.

Lemonheads were actually proposed to be the Illinois Official State Snack (they are made in Oak Park, just outside Chicago). Unfortunately, they were beat out by popcorn. Gov. Rod Blagojevich just signed the bill this week. Makes a guy feel good that those folks in Springfield are workin' hard.

Back when I was in school we got to vote for the state animal. I wanted the underdog skunk to win, but it was beaten by the deer. They do taste better, I suppose.

Wow, was that possibly named after one of our own?

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"
