Let me setup this:
Apparently, the Chairperson for the Zoning Board of Appeals that I work with is resigning the position because he/she has to move, but cannot afford another house in the Village (of 50,000), so she/he is moving out of the municipality. But there are areas in the Village that are higher density and relatively cheap, but have a slightly negative social stigma.
Now, is this an example of the effects of zoning's habit of restricting a diverse mix of housing? Or could that just be a spurious correaltion.
It is an interesting irony that the ZBA chair may have been forced to resign because of the zoning, though.
