    That's the place! Never, been but I hear it's nice . . .

No, the wrong turn was in Minden, Nevada, not Albuquerque. Though I have been there and it is pretty sweet.

Born and raised in northeastern Indiana (Fort Wayne)

Went to school in Peoria, Illinois (I was under the delusion that I could be an electrical engineer) and Virginia (planning MURP)

Worked in Knoxville for two years

Lived in California for 12. I really can't imagine living anywhere else -certainly not Indiana again (sorry, Hoosiers)

Born and raised in the Kensington/University Heights neighborhood in Buffalo, New York.

Very few local governments have planning agencies, and those that do hire through civil service, which in WNY traditionally has residency-before-application requirements.

I had no choice but to leave the area, and it's unlikely that I"ll ever return.

Definitely not a native. Many of the native Montanans are very adamant about the "them" and "us" mentality. Many ride around in trucks with bumper stickers that say "Native Montanan". At public hearings the old timers often preface their remarks by stating how many generations native Montanan they are. The Natives even differentiate between the number of generations. Hence a fifth generation native Montanan feels superior to a fourth generation Montanan.

I was born in Houston, but raised in New Orleans and north of Lake Pontchartrain. In 1986 I moved to Montana. Minus 19 months in Ketchikan, AK, I have been there ever since.

I am not a native Montanan but my so is. I am sure as soon as he learns how to talk he will start bitching about those "damned out-of-staters", like his Poppa and Mama (who is from Colombia).

Born and raised in Rochester, NY (town of Greece).
Lived in PA (Erie area)for 4 years (2 addresses).
Moved back to Rochester, NY for a year.
Headed down to Florida for a little more than 3 years
where I called Clermont home for one year and Lake Buena Vista home for two.
Moved on up to the Chicago area. First to Arlington Heights for a little less than a year, and now I currently reside in Des Plaines.

Somewhere, there is an angry postal worker trying to track me down. And he's got a bag full of credit card applications with him.

Move to Canada... they don't follow you up here. Apparently your credit record doesn't either.

Born in Lon Beach, California. Lived there for all of 6 months. Navy family, so we moved often. High school, law school, and fifteen subsequent years in the DC area so that is as close to a home as I have, especially since my parents, sister, mother-in-law, and two brothers-in-law all live in VA. Been in Oregon 12 years, so I'm on the road to becoming a local.

Born and raised in Georgia. (Daddy was a Hoosier and mom an immigrant.) Married a guy who never wanted to be anything but career military. Followed his career all over the world for many years now. Presently live in California, where I expect to remain "for the foreseeable future" (and possible Forever).

Non-native (unless you mean my part Cherokee ancestory).

    What to Say?

I was born in Cleveland, and am here now as a student. But I consider myself an Oklahoman through and through, as I've lived there since I was seven. People who talk to me on the phone have a hard time placing me because it's normal Midwestern slowed by a southern twang.

Born in Texas, I feel as though home is Austin (GO HORNS!). I'm living in Arizona, and I like it, but I've always wanted to be Canadien.

It snowed here this morning. It's not even the official end of summer yet... you may want to re-think that statement from one native southwesterner to another.

Oh no, that won't keep me away. When James graduates from his masters program we're seriously looking. One of our friends just moved back two weeks ago (Toronto), his brother and parents are going to move back in the next few years, another friend is trying to get up there (interview this week), we want to go too.

I just want to be able to say "eh" all the time!

When does James graduate? I may have a planner position opening in January. I can begin the infiltration of American planners into Canada!

Now now... it's not in the budget yet (and you know how that goes )... and anyway, you probably have the same credentials as my boss! You know you'll weather this hon... if they are stupid enough to let a gem like you go, they'll regret it when you get snapped up by another city!
