Saint Paul's namesake building, the Landmark Center was formerly the U.S. Courthouse and Post Office. When both moved out to larger facilities, the charming building was in danger. Ramsey County purchased it, and Saint Paul bought it from them, repairing the building. It is now used as a cultural institution, containing the Museum of American Art, along with other exhibits on Saint Paul and its history.
