Aussie Rules Planning
The Planning in Australia subforum is the newest addition to the Cyburbia Forums. Discuss planning issues unique to Australia, planning systems used in Australian states, Australian planning organizations and professional planner certification, and other topics related to planning in the Land Down Under.
Cyburbia needs a sustaining revenue source
Cyburbia has served the planning community since 1994 with very little funding or financial remuneration. Cyburbia receives no grants or honoraria, and advertising revenue is minuscule even though it has about the same level of traffic as another popular planning-related Web site.
Cyburbia isn't going away anytime soon, but it needs a sustainable revenue source or supporting sponsor if it is going to survive and thrive in the future. See this Cyburbia Forums thread for more details (must be a registered user to view the thread), and let us know your thoughts.
AICP certification maintenance requirements

On Friday, 13 April, the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Commission approved a plan for certification maintenance, with all three motions in this document passing unanimously. Details of the program can be found on the American Planning Association web site (http://www.planning.org/certification/maintenance.htm). Visit the Cyburbia Forums to share your thoughts about the news.
UK Town Planning forum

For those planners who work with LDFs, LDDs, and SPDs instead of PUDs, BZAs and UGBs, Cyburbia have added the new UK Town Planning forum to its lineup of planning forums. Cheers!

Cyburbia server relocation
Because of recent performance/uptime problems, we moved Cyburbia to a better server. The move occurred Saturday afternoon, and should now be about complete. We hope the inconveniences have been limited to a minimum.
Labo(u)r Day weekend
Monday, 4 September is Labo(u)r Day in the United States and Canada. We'll catch up with the Post of the Day feature on Monday or Tuesday. Enjoy the long weekend, and stay safe.
Server relocation and weekend outages

This weekend (26-29 May), Cyburbia will be moving from its current web host to a new virtual private server of our own.
The message board, along with the rest of the site, will be offline at unexpected times. Some site functions may be broken in the process, and it may be a few days before Cyburbia returns to normal.
Site of the Day updates
As you may have noticed, the Site of the Day hasn't been updated in a few days. We were kind of busy over here, finding a new host for Cyburbia. Over the next few days, we'll be setting up the new server, moving Cyburbia over, and fixing the inevitable kinks.
In the meantime, you have a Site of the Day recommendation, please send it to çŷbûrbìà(åt)çybúrbíá(dõt)øřġ, and we'll try to catch up.
