I remember one from Savannah, GA project, but I can't find it. Interesting use of technology that will become more and more a part of project presentations. The project outside Moscow has designed some very interesting spaces including the central green and the interior core for residential and mixed use development.

I would say either Maya or 3ds studio max.

You can "try" to do this in sketchup, but it has to be finished with a higher quality renderng software (I have used iClone or Renderplus) but the quality still isn't nearly as good.

Check out spine3d.com. Although they didn't list the software on their website (proprietary reasons I guess).

I saw a presentation board at an interview a f ew weeks ago that had a graphic similar to this (the firm outsourced the whole image to China for only $600).

Very nice work, cardinal. Was this done in sketchup? I am looking for plant material similar to your project. Can you point me in the right direction?

The animation was laid out in CAD and then animated using 3D Studio Max. I am told that we are beginning to use a combination of CAD and Sketchup in the initial phase.

3d studio max
I think you can do it in form Z

There is also being developed a virtual walk through program. Someone at Sci Arch is working on it ( it think for the last 10 years or so)
