PlannerGirl inspired me to follow suit after she changed her avatar to the BMW logo. How better to celebrate the capture of those bastards in DC that celebrate that Father of Sprawl that Poisoner of the Planet the machine that we love to gripe about, but secretly love? Let's us now refuel our vehicles standing proudly and stoicly at the pumps.

Yes, let's have Auto Avatar Week.

Hard core bikers and public transportation users may post pictures of your favorite conveyance.

OK

NHP - Your call! But I'd go with what I WANT!

PG - Then who was it? I must make the correction.

Okay I'll participate in auto week. I drive a VW Jetta TDI. I get an average of 40 mpg, but I typically take the bus to work and save the car for leisure travel.

I did have the BMW logo up for a few moments with the words "Bright Modern Woman" under it.

I have never been a Beemer fan but i like Scotts ;-)

Im thinking of getting a Subaru next-need more doggie room

Thoughts anyone?
My other car is the Outback Sport - its an excellent car! Highly recommended. However, demographics will dictate that if you buy one, you are a dyke.

I drive a 99 Honda Accord Coupe and I love it, but I would love one of those new 2003 240 hp Accord Coupes even more! They look pretty sweet....and they come with an optional mp3 player.

1998 Volkswagen Passat.

Colorado Red. A rolling ticket machine.

Loaded. Everything except the automatic climate control system.

Tiptronic transmission. 30 valve V6. 2.8 litres of Teutonic "hell ja!" goodness. You can't help but hear Wagner and think about invading small European nations single-handedly when you step on the accelerator.

Don't even think of calling it a Jetta. I'm not of the male Jetta driving persuasion. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

What I really want, though, is one of these.

The Volkswagen Phaeton.

Again ... JAAAAAA!

You do realize that you have to attach these to any Volvo avatar. It's just tradition.

...and proud of it.

I'm ALLOWED to have a big SUV with 4-wheel drive because I live up in the mountains, right?

That's, uh... me on the bike. Yeah, me on the bike!

I just changed my avatar to the maker of my mountain bike, Dekerf

Sorry it is so small, I can't figure out / have trouble shrinking images.

I drive a jetta, and I'm not a chad or trixie either, it is what i could afford that was a bit nicer/upscale then the usual.

I want a MB C230.

Yes, but that would defeat Dan's purpose of picking liberal states....we're about as conservative a state as you can find east of the midwest.

But, so he doesn't feel left out....

Of course. . .

My husband wants an H2 Hummer to go with his work humvee and Abrams M1-A1 tank. . .

Now, thats an SUV! We saw one the other day, they are pretty sweet. I guess opposites attract- me with my Mini and my husband with his H2.

That's okay. I'm a lesbian trapped in a medium-build male liberal planner's body.

Jeep!!

I'll use a photo of my Jeep in my driveway. Driveway photos of Jeeps are a cardinal sin, but it's the only digital one I have.

Friends, I think I found the pinnacles in RUGGED!ness.

It's big.

It's long.

It scares women.

It's the Australian road train.

The ultimate status symbols in The Town Next Door include the Chevrolet Bruin Fleetside ...

... and the Ford F-650 Super Crewzer.

Back in Denver, the Washington Park yups were begging for Unimogs.

Civilian Pinzgauers were quite common in Denver.

Still, nothing screams "affluent Coloradoan" like the Kenworth Pilgrimage.

I dare anyone here to use an avatar picturing a shiny new Hindustan Ambassador for an entire week.

I'm also begging some good planner, in the name of equal time, to use the logo of a bicycle company or public transit agency for their avatar.

I still ride my Haro mountain bike that I bought 13 years ago. I think I'll buy a new one in the spring, now that I am no longer in school.

Slightly OT...

It seems a lot of people on this board ride mountain bikes. Being fairly new to the 'sport' I've been under the impression that Trek, Gary Fisher and Specialized made the the top of the line bikes. Now I'm getting the feeling that there is a class of bike way above Fisher, et al... True?

New car I would like to have is the MB C230

Older car -Jag XJS from teh late 80's early 90's

I already have a red 1958 porsche, convertible. it is a tractor and really fun to drive around my parent's farm.

New road bike or track bike - Richard Sachs or other handbuilt custom bike (Spectrum/IF/Seven/Marinoni)

New Mountain Bike - intense VPP
