APA/AICP dues paid by jurisdiction?

Does your public sector employer pay for your annual APA and/or AICP dues?

What about a "bonus" or additional annual salary for being AICP-certified? If so, is certification required or encouraged for your position; and/or is it contained in your Association's (union's) MOU?

My jurisdiction is about to negotiate its MOU, and I'd like to hear what other local agencies are doing. Thanks!

Yes, it pays both. It does not pay for the cost of taking the AICP exam.

There is no additional pay for AICP or post graduate degrees...I sure wish there was!

Assistant and Associate planners can get $25 a month in additional salary if they are AICP certified but it requires that you complete at least 1 planning related training program year that the City does not pay for. Some planners don't take the AICP "bonus" because many of the training programs available would cost as much today as the cumulative $25 a month ($300 a year) that they receive. It is in the MOU. Senior staff do not have this "bonus".
