I know we planners are generally a bunch of map and demographics geeks at heart. Where is your city on the "Creative Class" Scale?

http://www.creativeclass.org/ci.htm

Albany:
Percent of Workforce in C.C.:11-51
Creativity Index: 11-51
Diversity Index - 151-250
High Tech:51-150
Innovation:11-51

Much better than I'd expected.

I didnt see a part of the web site that gave the stats you were quoting, KMateja...

Interesting side note - Milwaukee was ranked as one of the top 10 places to be a lesbian.

At least you guys have something to post...

Not a single area in NH is ranked....I would have thought at least Manchester (pop 100,000+) would have at least made the list...I mean Auburn/Lewiston, ME and Bangor, ME are in the list! :p

Where I live now: Orlando:

Ranking among major regions: 32; creativity index: 752
Overall rank: 49
Creative class: 108

Seems about what I'd expect.

The numbers to beat belong to Austin. I wonder what place is the least creative, the least innovative, or the least diverse/gay?

It seems a bit stereotypical to say that a place is more "creative" if there's a higher percentage of gays and lesbians. Would a place more "entreprenural" if there was a large Jewish population?

Environment where you'll probably find only a very small creative class.

You'll probably encounter a large creative class here.

I was hoping we'd fare a little better in this ranking, but thanks Dan-- that first pic of the Victorian homes in your post was the Lafayette Square neighborhood on STL's Near South Side.
