There's one dot on the map for each. Which is the better state? On the one hand you have Charleston, SC, on the other you have Charlotte. Atlanta or Raleigh-Durham? Cape Hatteras or Myrtle Beach?

Mod note from chet: Poll Created. You owe me a beer when Budgie visits!

North

Much better Universities :) Clem is ok but thats the only good thing in S Carolina

N Carolina has: UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, etc etc

Better driveing in the country-think Blue Ridge Parkway in NC :)

South - Better accents and better food. I had to vote South, out of loyalty. But to be REALLY honest, If forced to move back south, I'd have to go to NC, for all the reasons above.

South, because:

It's NOT the home of NASCAR.

Better barbecue (Duke's in Orangeburg - mmmmmm).

Better beaches.

Better drives in the country - I'll take anywhere in the Lowcountry, and most lonely 2-lanes Upstate, over the BRP.

Finally, and most importantly, far fewer arrogant, overcredentialed, undereducated and overpaid UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State grads ;).

(ATTN: UNC, Duke, Wake, and NC State alumni - please e-mail all flames to my personal account at mhieric@yahoo.com. I don't want to strain Cyburbia bandwidth.)

Oh, boy, what have I started?

Gotta go with SOUTH for obvious reasons (but I really like NC too)

Charleston, Beaufort, Greenville are beautiful cities. (Yes, we do have Myrtle Beach, but they've come a long way in cleaning up their image)

And we can't claim NASCAR (I see this as a plus), nor Jesse Helms ;)

And I gotta take issue with no good schools as I am also a grad of another state institution.

For the record, I have all my teeth.

The South?

Why live in the south when you have a choice. Beer and southern preachers do NOT go well together, the snow does not stay when it falls, and the ice fishing sucks! :)

Not to mention that football (real football, not soccer) is meant to be played in temperatures less than 20 degrees Farenheit.

WTF!? You can't even compare the two because the palmetto state is going to win every time. Like was said above...better food, better accents, more laid back people, more character, and you'll never go see anyplace with more pride in itself - Just name another state where every other car has the state flag logo affixed to the rear window.

I'll take the Bob Jones infest of Greenville (really a beautiful city) over the sprawling snottyness of Raleigh or Charlotte any day. And Charleston...well here's just no comparing it with anywhere.

Now as for schools, I'll have to agree with Belle and take offence at the thought that Clemson is the only decent school in SC (We both attended the same university after all).

To sum things up, the only good thing to ever come out of North Carolina is I-85 South. ;)

I say North even though I saw a NASTY segment on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago about the pork industry down there and what they're doing to the environment. *shudders*

People in North C are stuck up and wantabe Atlantans. Since I am from ATL and don’t want to hear any more about how “Charlotte is just a cosmo as Atlanta”, I will go with South C. At least they have their own identity.

PS. and after living in East Tenn. for a couple of years, I could never side with the sworn enemy on the “other” side of the mountain.

Then why does the South (high school and college) have better Football than the rest of the county? Look how many southern teams are in the top 20 every year. ;)

1. Their students get paid more.

2. Let them come play a game at Lambeau in January. Their tears will be frozen to their faces.

Come play in the South in August / Sept. They will dehydrate. :)

I bet there is no chance to use a chainsaw, a spear, 2x4's, and fish at the same event in either of those great states :)

You've obviously never been to family reunion in Pickens County. ;)

I'm taking SC over NC. Just like Biscuit said, better food, better accents and more laid-back people.

NC is full of pseudo-intellectuals from the universities and transient Yankees. SC is what it is, and knows it -- southern to the core.

How else could Strom Thurmond survive so long there?

I spent a few years on the North-South line. I enjoyed both states. I later met a fellow who was rasied on the same line. His name was Moultrie McIntyre. I note it was obvious with that name: French Huguenot for South, and Scots-Irish for North Carolina.

Come on now Mike, we're not hanging out at Carowinds here... no straddling the state line on this one buddy... North or South. ;)

I voted north, because it is closer to where I live and the road riding is supposed to be awesome.

I just remembered another reason everyone should vote SOUTH--that southern landmark, focus of Northern envy, bastion of good taste...

SOUTH OF THE BORDER!!!

So...vote for South Carolina...because Pedro told you to!

You gotta give mad props and cast your vote for the state that's so classy that the first landmark one sees when crossing the state line is giant, fuzzy butt.

Behold the sexy power of the Peachoid!

Soooo sexy...soooo luscious...You must vote for it, yes.
