I am considering the purchase of a 1.3 acre unimproved lot in a affluent suburban Pennsylvania subdivision. I discovered during my due diligence the subdivision developer had placed a restriction "from further building" on the subdivision development plan for this lot, as well as, six other unimproved lots, which was approved by the township and recorded at the county level. The "intent" of the restriction appears to be a mystery. How difficult are these arbitrary/capricious restrictions to overcome? Where do I start? Thank you.
