I have been selected to participate in a forum on downtown revitilization. I am looking for links, ideas, and help in resources on this topic. The downtown is a historic district in a small Texas town, and a lot of the county offices are moving to new facilities.
Thanks.

Try contacting the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. This organization is part of a group that revitalized the historic district and downtown in that city. I doubt they have a web page, but they will have contact names and information for you if you call or write.

Sheb. Co. Historical Research Center
Rose Rumpff, Executive Director
518 Water Street
Sheboygan Falls WI 53085

Good luck to you.

There are a few downtown organizations. Of course, there is the National Trust and the Main Street Program, and also the International Downtown Association. Wisconsin and California have state downtown organizations. California's has a web site - www.californiadowntown.com. The Urban Land Institute has run a few good articles on downtown revitalization, which you can access at their site, www.uli.org. Alexander Research publishes a newsletter, Downtown Idea Exchange, and a few small guidebooks.
