totally ot but impalement reminded me of this:
I had an afternoon meeting at the Federal Building downtown, and you have to pass through a metal detector. My co workers were on the 13th floor mezanine when I walked in, saw me, and took bets whether or not I had body piercings that would set them off.
Impalements are fascinating and some of the situations that people survive are unbelievable. I saw the TLC ER episode with the huge butcher knife/cleaver sunk in a guys head - He wasn't much fazed and recently a pregnant musician from Michigan fell off her balcony onto a microphone stand. Impaled her through chest and shoulder area out her back, she sat there very still, felt fine at first then noticed her predicament and had her children call 911. SHe and baby, born by emerg C are fine!
