The funny thing is, this Klein character has been in the hot seat many times because of how he behaves when drunk (which is quite frequent...he's known as a huge booze hound). I was hoping the article would mention that he was considering going to this bar for his own personal cleaning-up.

Speaking of Nerudite - she has been quiet for a while. I hope some rock music celebrity hasn't punched her again.
Too far? I would support no smoking in any bar. You are talking to a California Native (one that worked in Davis, no less)... and there isn't smoking in bars there. It's what I'm used to.
The City Council ended up denying the request last night for the non-alcohol 'bar' to allow smoking. No cigarettes for you, commie non-drinkers! They were afraid that one person requesting a variance would open the floodgates. In that respect, I think they are right.
Just think of it... a liquor license in a place catering to alchoholocs. Ching, ching! If all of our social service agencies would adopt that kind of entrepreeurial spirit, they would all be self-funded.
