Thought I'd offer a challenge to y'all excellent guessers. Or maybe it won't be a challenge, but here I go.

Clues:
- It's in Canada.
- Not exactly a ghost town.
- Not exactly a town either.

1959 aerial photo
It was a military base and community during the Cold War era.

Remaining radar base infrastructure

A modern photo shot of this community
The yellow building in the background is an abandoned apartment building. The building in the foreground is now occupied by a business.

More abandoned apartment buildings
Colourful, aren't they?

A view of the lived-in home dwellings behind the abadoned school and playground

A close-up view of the lived-in home dwellings
Check out the great views in the background.

So, any guesses?

The last link has the town name on it... you may want to edit it...

Edit: Looks like it has been changed so the town name doesn't show anymore. Yay!

Nerudite, thanks for my oversight of that town name. As you can tell, it is my first time doing this kind of post with a bunch of pics for this game.

SAC - thanks for your honesty. Unfortunately, it's not Uranium City, SK. But, I'd like to know more about that city.

It's not in either Saskatchewan or in Labrador. However, it is located in another province between these two provinces.

Okay, more clues coming up.
- it is the highest populated point in a province.
- a popular outerwear manufacturer has its production and its factory outlet here.
- most of the people who lives here lived in Foymount before, during the Cold War era.
- it is located just off an old colonization road that later failed to attract settlers during the mid-1800s.

Foymount? Although CFB Foymount no longer exists, isn't the remaining town still called Foymount? Found info at this website (lots of interesting stuff here) :)

Ontario Ghost Towns: Foymount

Ka-ching! DecaturHawk got it. Yes, it's still called Foymount. You're right there's lots of interesting information at that website and at other websites. I actually wrote a paper on Foymount and thought that it had such an interesting historical evolution of economic geography imposed in and around Foymount.

So, DecaturHawk, what gave you the idea that it'd be Foymount?

Well, I guess it was what you wrote in your earlier hint post:

- most of the people who lives here lived in Foymount before, during the Cold War era.
I Googled Foymount and found the aforementioned website.

Thanks for the fun GTC!
