Originally from Houston with family still there. . .I occasionally surf the Houston Chronicle online- found this today. "New Concept promoted for City Planning"- this is an effort by the City of Houston to tackle land use issues without zoning. Looks pretty ambitious to me in writing, just not sure how the citizens and developers will feel about all those "darn rules" when it starts affecting them.

Very ambitious indeed. It seems like such area plans may continue to promote haphazard development. I'm going to follow this story from here on out.
