...to meet everyone here in person. :)

Had a nice lunch with donk on Saturday on his way back to New Brunswick after a job interview. This now brings the total number of Cyburbanite's I've met in person to 16.

I've now met [banned user] (obviously...my ex-wife), peter lowitt (a former boss), Chet (in Chicago and Denver), prudence (in Chicago), Dan (in Denver), Planderella (Denver), nerudite (Denver), SW MI Planner (Denver), Bullwinkle (former planner in NH, and fellow BSU alum), mike gurnee (Denver), Chris Steins (Denver), donk (this weekend in Portland, ME), Joe Illiff (BSU alum), SGB (former planner in NH), and Seabishop (conference in MA).

I've met too many to remember, but I've also met the elusive PlannerGirl. Still have the scars to show it.

Just kidding.

NHP and [banned user] are my first that I have met in person. It was a good lunch and interesting to put faces and voices to names. Almost had to stop and take a nap at Bangor.

Kind of know JMF, she used to call me for info related to her old job.

Will probably meet Tranplanner in June when I go to TO for a wedding.

Will probaly meet nerudite in halifax.

Yeah, we'll have the first annual Cyburbia Ale fest (Canadian Chapter)... even if it's just the two of us! Any other cyburbanites going to Halifax?

Still not sure if I am going to the conference but I will probably head into Halifax during that week sometime so we will have to make plans.

Forgot to mention how proud and impressed I was of my wife for not making any comments about donk's Canadian pronunciation of "process" and "project." She said afterwards that it was really hard not to say something. :)

Only one "eh" though. :p

. . . and Seabishop (conference in MA).

I remember that conference well. Mass APA sure knows how to throw 'em.

I am careful about the eh's, especially in the States.

I did not think I sounded funny when I talked, I wished MP had said something, it would have been humourous.

If I get the job in the States I'll have to watch my pronounciation of house, project and process. (did not realize those last 2 sound funny)

I don't think it sounds funny (project and process)... it's the long O instead of a soft O, that's all. Now the way you say "out", "about", "sorry", "house"... those all sound funny. :)

You'll have enough to worry about with remembering all the planner lingo to think much about pronunciation. ;)

That's exactly what it was. I've heard enough Canadians in my time to expect it....she wasn't, and mentioned on the ride home that she wanted to say something, but thought it would have been rude. :)

Tim I've almost got you beat!

I searched the member directory, he's thie list of registered users I've run into:

Prudence (duh, coworker)
Chris Steins (Denver APA)
Jtfortin (formerly of the town next door)
Nerudite (Denver APA)
Dan (Denver APA)
Giff57 (Chicago APA)
SW MI Planner (Denver APA)
Bullwinkle (Denver APA)
Cheesewhiz (the town I live in)
Indigo (a consultant of ours)
Mike Gurnee (Denver APA)
Mr Frisky (this is a cheat but I'll take it)
NH Planner (Chicago APA and Denver APA)
Planderella (Denver APA)

Questionable - [banned user]. If his identity is truly what we think it is....

Questionable - Mike Stumpf. I thik we ran into each other at a state conference on econ dev. once, but it would have been pre-cyburbia....

So 14 - 16 and counting. I could beat you if I crash the Michigan lunch on the 29th. Keck its only a 3.5 hour drive.... ;)

"Sorry about your out house."

It not only sounds funny, but there's probably a good story behind that line.

OK...then I'm at 17, since I met Mr. Frisky as well. :)

I have my assumptions....but who do YOU think it is...a poll?
I have discovered the identity of [banned user]
Mods - This person is not who you'd expect. LOL.

This means I CAN count [banned user]! 15!!

I imagine I'd get the vote for cyburbanite you're least likely to meet, based on my location. But if anyone does come visiting Down Under I'd be happy to show them round...

I'm surprised at how many I've met:

NHPlanner
bturk
peter lowitt
Dan
Planderella
nerudite
SW MI Planner
mike gurnee
Chris Steins
SGB
Andy Dobson

That's 11! Not bad.
