"The general responsibility of this position is to support all facets of environmental planning including the local blue economy, natural resources, parks, accessibility, sustainable land development, green infrastructure, urban forestry, and associated programs, projects, and events related to the Land and Water Resources Program Area. This position includes grant writing and reporting, and coordination with non-profit and governmental agencies and their staff. Research and the dissemination of the findings require fluent writing capabilities, good communication skills, and the ability to present and educate groups of various sizes. Development of plans, priorities, strategies, and projects that integrate GIS data, field studies, geo-spatial analysis that provide mapping support and the creation of general graphic renderings, and conceptual mapping. This position will also assist with event planning and programming."

Required:
A Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Environment, Ecology, Forestry, Biology, and Landscape Architecture or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in community or environmental planning with a governmental agency or professional planning firm.

Preferred:
A Master Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Environment, Ecology, Forestry, Biology, Landscape Architecture or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.

Certification in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Planners (or an equivalent level of professional certification within an acceptable field of study)
