How many local communities out there have created a New Economy economic development strategy? I have found several states and a few larger cities that have plans. What about smaller communities? Any examples would be helpful.

Try Georgetown and Round Rock, Texas. Both are next to Austin and have seen a lot of impact from the tech sector. I have also read some articles on communities trying to lure telecom in rural areas like Nebraska and Kansas, but can't give you any citations.

Try the State Science and Technology Institute newsletter at SSTI.org Look under "State and Local Tech-based Roundup" for recent examples of any S&T plans or projects. Most are state-based, but there are a number of examples from smaller places such as Baton Rouge, Roanoke, Lancaster, etc.
