Keep it in the Commonwealth

Now look, Australians are often accused of having a huge inferiority complex but why aren't they at least considering Australia for annexation? They would win more medals in the Olympics - not to mention the Commonwealth Games.

Better still why not tow Canada into the Pacific?

Doesn't this run against US policy articulated two centuries ago in the Monroe Doctrine? We made it clear at that time that America was for the Americans, and foreign (alien) nations had better stay out. We don't need colonial powers mucking around in our neighborhood. Let the Canadians stay in Europe where they belong! If we are not vigilent, we'll soon find them on our very borders.

I thought the U.N. put down the idea of annexation last time round. Oh well, I guess they're irrelevant now anyway ;)

Nooooooo! If they become a province, Air Canada will rule the flights and the costs will double. Stay free of Canadian taxes and airfare hikes!

Maybe the turks and caicos could annex us?

The deal would probably be better that way, just ask NFLD and Labrador.

Seeing as how Air Canada is one of the few major airlines in North America that isn't on the verge of bankrupcy, it's logical to reason that Air Canada just charges what it costs to get you there.

Actually, Air Canada has already filed bankruptcy protection and the feds have been bailing them out for awhile now. They have restructured so many times (including in the last few weeks), that you never know what kind of service you are going to get or whether your flights will be cancelled altogether. It's a sad little company... I'm just happy that other carriers (with better customer service!) like WestJet are stepping up and doing a great job in the process.

Edit: Whoops... Tran beat me to it.

Do you know your geography of North America? Because if you aren't kidding, then you aren't too bright...

As for Air Canada, though its not doing all that well, in relation to some of the american carriers, it could be one of the few that survive.

West Coast Canadian has just cost Canadian pride another percentage point on the international scale of respect. Be gentle Michael.

That's ok. We Americans ;) tend to drop bombs on you guys, so I can't be too critical.
