People we can laugh at

Planners enjoy the opportunity to laugh at others. Bturk gave us a story of a "citizens group pressing for an historical marker at the alleged site of an historical railroad depot. It was discovered that the 'foundations' for the alleged depot were actually a fairly recent pair of shuffleboard courts."

Yup, people are dumb. I've had run-ins with a state DNR that wanted to preserve the 'natural' shoreline of a man-made lake, that objected to placing limestone boulders on the shore beacuase they may change the pH - although they would sit on the same bedrock formation they were mined from, and that has been giving me trouble about filling a portion of wetland that we created in the first place.

Give me time and I can think of more. In the meantime, let's hear yours.

With a little dark humor, how about these two birds of a feather:

Can you name these two "brothers"?

Sorry.. but then, Chet's got so many posts here I figured it had to be him. ;)
Yes, Goddess, we probably figured Chet had the crazy Wisconsin story (not that that's bad, Texans can be crazy too!).

Everyone have a chuckle at me- I got bored while I was out tonight and came home for cyburbia and my little city on Sim City. :)

Wisconsin stories usually involve brandy, beer, sex, and ultimately gruesome murder. But then, I am not above taking credit for someone else's good story...

And Tex - don't worry. Stumpie is here nights and weekends too. Check out the dates times on his posts. ;) we can put the two of you together and get one good life. :)

Yes, I have to admit, I spent the evening hunting job openings and sending out resumes. Cyburbia is a nice break, though it's kinda lonely at times on a Saturday night. :(

It might take more than just me and Tex to put together one whole life. Oh well, I guess I'd rather give up the evening and enjoy a day outside when it gets as nice as it has been this past weekend. The leaves are raked from the back yard (but too wet to burn), I got in a nice hike this morning, and mmm... What's that? Smells like chicken goulash with potato dumplings and fresh bread. Alright, Tex, that's my contribution. What can you offer?

holy crap, i've been so addicted to simcity lately. i spent easily 6 hours yesterday on it. sigh. i play it at lunch too. things have been kind of stressful lately and it is just so nice to totally escape into my city and deal with their little sim problems and not have to worry about my own. :)

Not to mention that if they piss you off, you can blast them with meteors, set fires, trigger earthquakes....

Well, until they let me take my desk outside, I'm kinda stuck here trying to work while constantly checking CNN (and cyburbia of course).

Can anyone say "Site Visit"? I knew you could...

I wish i could think of something to go look at, in side the City limits

I have a garage that was built to close to the road , but it is outside of town and I am suppose to "group" those visits together to save on milage.

the good news is that I was able to get my first "outside" bike rides in for the spring. Nothing like riding when it is 5 degrees celcius outside, avoiding puddles (can you say cold water enema) and trying to see over the snow banks on the side of the road. Two nice easy rides in felt great

To make my life more interesting I went and added a 6 week old boxer puppy to my family. I'll post pictures later today, her name is Sadie.

Aww she is very cute.

Hide your shoes and anything else edible!

I had a St. Bernard puppy once that ate my hot tub!

Yeah, right. We believe you. We all know you prefer zebra print and naugahyde. ;)

I think you are both right - tiger on the back and cheetah on the seat.

Hm, I would've thought that to be the infamous spotted leopard of southern Asia. :)

Hee- Hatcher is very excited. He plays with her and picks her up and moves her if she's getting too far away.
