Residential zoning overlay

Our neighborhood isn't quite old enough to be "historical," but many of us are supportive of a slight zoning change that would subject exterior alterations to our homes to an overlay. Some protest more government control. Where could we find statistics that show the effect of these overlays on the values of properties in neighborhoods that adopt them? thanks!

residential zoning overlay

I'd start with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and see if they have sponsored or know of property value studies and the relationship of historic district (or overlay) status. Jerry Weitz
