Sam's Law Warning: I Entered the Vortex of Evil This Morning

Yep, the big nexus of evil, WalMart.

My eyeglasses basically self-destructed-first one temple broke (three days, my optomoetrist said). Then, this morning, the other temple broke. I called my optimetrist: Can I come in and just pay for a new frame. "Um, no, we have to have them specially ground and everything. Three more days." Went to The Vortex of Evil, picked out a frameset that was very, very close "Our technician will be in at noon, the glasses should be ready by 12:30-1:00.

I am so unowrthy of the anti-corporate crusade! But, I couldn't stand three more days of sunglasses that are slightly off anyway, and any old glasses are different enough that wearing them would also create headaches.

You can self loathe and count yourself among the very high percentage of Americans who shop there at least once a year.

Well, you sort of assume a specialist will be able to turn things around better. Not that I would necessarily buy my lenses or see the optometrist at WalMart, but...I need my frames now!

I am MIllercutis of Borg! Resistance IS futile.

(And, The Vortex maybe building a Supercenter in the area soon. I've heard about a couple of sites in central county).

Whine whine whine! Duct tape isn't good enough for you? :-D

Well, my frames were so thin that there was nowhere to duct tape. And, until the second temple broke, I'd hoped to get the glasses replaced under warranty, so self repairs (I suggested superglue) were out. I just can't wait, though. New frames are not that much.

I was playing SimCity 4 last night, and all of a sudden this got plunked down outside of a little farm town, near an expressway interchange. I had no control over whether it appeared or not ... it just popped up. .

After it appeared, the downtown commercial district died.

This is how it starts.

In a few weeks you'll gain a hundred pounds, and show up everyday in your #3 muscle shirt, dragging your toddler son into the checkout line by the mullet. :-D

I was checking out some local drive-thrus today to compare them to a proposed plan and ended up eating at Burger King. :-$ I feel dirty.

Well, the heftage part, I am sorta halfway there :(

But, I have more self-respect than to wear a muscle shirt. Ick. They should be banned for anyone over age 20-male OR female.

You shouldn't feel dirty, though. Just your arteries. :/

That is one small parking lot for WM. Your Sim City must have been written by a WM insider to allow such few stalls. Probaly was done to confuse plannerw who play Sim City that there really is not much impervious surface and the construction of WM will encourage pedestrian use and walkable communities!
