Hey - this thread is to talk about the fun times of being a regional planner
I run a regional planning commission in Maine - in a state of local control, it's a dicey situation but most of my work is for specific towns but I try to do things that can translate to other communities
The hard part is it's a non-profit, member organization so I am like a planning firm so I have to stay billable - new challenge after being in local government since 1992!
The good news is I get to do what I like doing, planning projects, without being too entrenched in any one community
If you are a regional planner, check in and talk about what you do, pose questions to the group or sound off!
