People The speaker circuit

Does anyone else feel that they constantly see the same names over and over in transportation planning conference sessions (and even news articles) over and over? I know it's probably a bit of a cyclical effect, but is there some sort of secret to being on the mobility/transportation planning speaker circuit? Something I've been wondering for years now...

(for reference, I'm referring to the following conferences: NACTO, Rail~Volution, Urbanism Next, Shared Use Mobility Summit, Transportation Camp DC, etc. Haven't been to APA in a long time so not sure about that one since it's also gigantic)
