How many nuns can you fit into a Lada?

I think the Yugo was called a "Lada" in Ireland. It was very cheap and notoriously bad value for money, leading to many jokes of the "what do you call a Lada with a sunroof and two exhausts? Answer, A Skip" variety.

It seems that the general body/engines of most cars now are reliable, so it seems to be the electrics that let you down. Alfa Romeo (My car, hooray good choice Boru!) and Mercedes seem to be the worst for this at the moment.

First that came to mind for worst car was anything made by AMC, particullarly the Gremlin or Pacer. The Ford Pinto is not far behind. Then I remembered the worst of the worst; anything made by Hummer while used as a non-military vehicle...

Don't forget the AMC Spirit. Can you "high center fo gravity/rollover danger?"

God, that car was terrifying to drive. As was the "Matador" station wagon. :)

Escorts

Escort? Are you kidding me? I see them all over the place, particularly those built during the early 1990s...Actually, it's pre-1991 that were bad. The early 1990s Escorts were very good, reliable cars that get great gas mileage.
I had a 1988 with 150K miles on it (in 1995), and after replacing the distributor cap, it was honestly getting 50MPG highway miles.
Lately, I have seriously considered spending a bit to find another and get running well now. It can't cost more than a couple hundred dollars to buy and maybe up to a grand to get it running well. Sounds more cost efficient than what I'm driving now.:)
