To Tori Amos in two weeks! And I just ordered the newest cd, so that i'm not all crabby when all she does is play songs i haven't heard off her new album. I'm excited.... I haven't been to a concert in ages. Anyone else have big concert plans coming up?

I saw Blue Rodeo a couple of weeks ago. We bought the tickets through the website and ended up with 4th row centre seats. It was great! Not the same as seeing them in university at a smaller venue but still great!

I'm thinking of seeing Pearl Jam in Denver, but haven't really decided yet. I will have a lot of friends in Denver (mostly co-workers/former employers), so I'm not sure how much free time I will have in the evenings.

Also Matthew Good is coming to Edmonton in March, and I may go see him. Otherwise, no plans yet. I hope this summer's concert season is better than last year.

Concerts!

I am also ecstatic. I am seeing my musical God, David Tibet (formerly of Psychic TV, collaborator in Nurse With Wound, and Band Leader of the ultimate British apocalyptic folk band, Current 93. He is coming to SF in May (barring war-related disruptions). Current 93 rules!

Nothing on the immediate horizon - unless Cold Play adds a Toronto show on their current swing. Pearl Jam is coming to Toronto in August - might try to see that one.

I saw Theory of a Dead Man and Three Doors Down the other week at the old Warehouse, and last week I took my parents to a concert - the massed bands of The Grenadier Guards and The Highland Regiment. It was actually quite fun - and brought back a few memories...

Tori in concert is wonderful.

I was thinking about going to her show in March... but my budget will only allow me to go see "A Prairie Home Companion" live broadcast that month.

O.K. I'm a total dork. I admit it.

Metallica Summer Sanitarium Tour....yeah baby.

They're still cool even though they've sucked for the past 10 years.

I saw her at Hill Auditrium in Ann Arbor back in 1994, a year after "Under the Pink" was released. Great show and a sexy performer! She is so spacey, so cool, so yummy!

I've got concert tix too

The Pretenders will be in Ann Arbor this Friday! I wish i could go!

Though my little sis is taking me to see Elton and Billy on May 3 at the Palace in Auburn Hills! We'll probably get a hotel for the night too and get silly!

OMIGOSH!!! Where?!!!

I love Chrissie Hynde! I saw the Pretenders open for the B-52's in 1998 at Pine Knob. They put on a superb show... much better than the gawd-awful B-52's. Chrissie is so nice, so cool!! I will get tickets and leave work early if I have to!

Where at: Blind Pig? Power Center?

They're playing Eugene... Shame I don't have the cash to go. I met her once when they played Robin Hood Dell West in Philly. I was hanging around backstage with Simple Minds... I think she was or is married to one of them.

I LOVE Prarie Home Companion!!! Garrison Keeler is the best. Rob, however, orchestrates all long driving trips on sunday afternoon around the show, because he hates it, and i don't care and make him listen anyway, so now we just leave earlier.

Belinda Carlysle is coming to the theatre at our local indian casino. I might go just to see how the "mighty" have fallen. I'm guessing they've fallen to her waist by now. ;)

Ha!

But really, you're gonna miss a great concert. However, I cannot envision the Pretenders getting rowdy and fun at the Michigan Theater. It's definitely not a stodgy place, but sort of delicate. I hope it's not ballad night. Ugh! And I forgot that Friday is Valentine's Day. What a perfect night for some sappy Pretenders ballads, come to think of it. Hmmm, maybe this concert will suck?

Anyone seen Henry Rollins lately? He's coming to town in March, but he's playing a kind of stodgy joint which I think means he'll be doing some kind of spoken word thing. Anyone know if he's back to his harder stuff yet, or is he still blowin' the hot air? I'm interested... but I'm not sure if I'm up to spending a bunch of dough on spoken word stuff right now. Suggestions?

He was in Toronto about a week and a half ago...I thought about going, but then didn't. The whole "Full Metal Challenge" thing has put me off him a bit.

I saw him a few years back and he was great.

Saw the concert last night - was okay. The Michigan Theater is not the best venue for such a cool band. Perhaps the mentally disabled guy behind me affected the evening. He was so loud, the only one in the back rows yelling out to Chrissie, and screamed some the of the dumbest things, "DO A COVER OF DYLAN!! LET"S PARTY AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!" He sparked up some reefer which was cool, but it was skunky smelling and probably some crappy stuff. Also, there was a good dose of their slower, ballady stuff, which was a snoozer.

Three out of five stars.
